December has arrived! Our last chat of the year is only FOUR sleeps away!! We are super excited to be joined by Stef Gemmill to wrap up another wonderful year. Make sure you join us as we chat ‘Change and New Beginnings’.

Stef Gemmill launched her debut picture book ‘A Home for Luna’ (which I absolutely adore!)  in  2019. This beautiful book is illustrated by Mel Armstrong and introduces the themes of homelessness, relationships and adapting to change. Stef’s  next picture book, In My Dreams is due out in 2020 by New Frontier Publishing and Toy Mountain in 2021 by EK Books (we can’t wait!!).

Here are the questions for our December #picbookbc chat!

Q1. Choose a favourite picture book with the theme ‘change’ or ‘new beginnings’ . Share a pic!

Q2. In Anna Walker’s picture book ‘Florette’ we meet Mae who is moving with her family to a new home. This story features an exploration of a child’s resilience in adapting to change. What picture book would you recommend with the theme of moving house/relocating to a new area?

Q3. As the start of a new school year nears closer it can be a challenging time of transition and new beginnings. Share a favourite picture book which explores the theme of starting school/going to a new school.

Q4. Change can be something we don’t see coming. How can picture books help with dealing with unexpected change?

Plus there will be plenty of time at the end of the chat  to ask our special guest Stef Gemmill all of your questions!  Horray!!

We look forward to partying ‘picture book’ style on Thursday 5th December at 8pm AEST for another #Picbookbc Twitter chat! Remember to keep Daylight Savings in mind!

If you haven’t joined one of our chats before and wondering how it works head on over to our Welcome to the #picbookbc Twitter chat post!  Join the party!

Nicola 🙂
