NOVEMBER #PICBOOKBC QUESTIONS

We are roaring into November with our lion themed picture book chat, featuring an amazing special guest, Victoria MacKinlay!

Next Thursday evening at 8pm AEST we will be chatting about lion themed picture books and celebrating Victoria’s beautiful book ‘The Lion Who Came to Stay’, illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh.

When Francis writes a letter to his parents in India, it results in the most surprising, wonderful Christmas gift, a lion cub called Singh.

The cub and Francis become the closest of friends, exploring the city, searching the sky for stars, snuggling down to sleep and learning to ROAR!

A true story of friendship, loyalty and love.

Thanks to Scholastic, I have a copy of ‘The Lion Who Came To Stay’ to give away to a chat participant on Thursday! The winner will be announced at the end of the chat.

Here are the chat questions for the November #picbookbc chat!

Q2. Why do you think lions make truly excellent picture book characters? #picbookbc

OCTOBER #PICBOOKBC QUESTIONS

Horray! We are counting down the sleeps until our Spooky picture book party next week! I am super excited to announce that the talented Katrin Dreiling will be joining the chat as our special guest! We will also be celebrating the brand new picture book she has created with Rebecca Adams , ‘If You Ever Meet a Skeleton’.

‘Skeletons might seem frightening, but if you look closer, there’s nothing much to fear. They can’t run fast, they’re terrible at hide-and-seek, and they’re scared of everything. When a group of trick-or-treaters runs into an actual skeleton on an enchanted Halloween night, they do whatever they can get away. But what does the skeleton really want? What if they’re just looking for a friend?

With distinctive, quirky illustrations and humorous rhyming text, this book invites you to find out whether this bag of bones is a trick or a treat!’
