JULY #PICBOOKBC CHAT QUESTIONS

We are getting excited with only 4 sleeps until the July picture book party! This month we are celebrating picture books featuring themes of conservation and the environment.

It is also our pleasure to welcome the wonderful Aleesah Darlison as our special guest. We will also be celebrating Aleesah’s 4th picture book in the Endangered Animal Tales series – ‘Banjo the Woylie with Bounce’, beautifully illustrated by Mel Matthews.

‘Banjo is a tiny woylie joey.

Bounce with Banjo as he escapes from danger and searches for a safe place to call home.

The next book in the Endangered Animal Tales picture book series, highlighting unique Australian animals’

Penguin Books Australia.

Here are the questions for the July #picbookbc chat!

Q1. What are your favourite picture books with an environment or conservation theme? Share a pic #picbookbc

Q2. How do you think picture books with an environmental focus help readers develop awareness, knowledge and a sense of responsibility for the environment? #picbookbc

Q3. In Aleesah’s ‘Endangered Animal Tales’ series she has featured Coco the spotted handfish, Poppy the Mary River turtle, Rusty the Gouldian finch and Banjo the tiny Woylie joey. Which endangered animal you would feature in a picture book and why?

Q4. Share an environmental/conservation issue that is important to you and a picture book you would recommend on the topic.

There will be plenty of time at the end of the chat to ask our special guest Aleesah Darlison (@Aleesah) all your questions!

One lucky chat participant will win a copy of ‘Banjo the Woylie with Bounce’ thanks to Penguin Books Australia! The winner will be announced at the end of the chat.

I look forward to you joining Aleesah and I for the July picture book party,  Thursday 7th of July at 8pm AEST!

If you haven’t joined one of the chats before and wondering how it works head on over to our Welcome to the #picbookbc Twitter chat post!
